SK Telecom Deploys 5G-PON in 10% of its Network

The fronthaul part of the network seems to be the latest focus for innovation in wireless networks, but 5G-PON isn’t the only option. Dali Wireless has developed a patented fronthaul interface that uses software-defined networking (SDN) to act as an intelligent aggregator-router. Dali’s interface sits between the BBUs and the radio heads on the tower allowing multiple operators to connect to multiple BBUs to create a multipoint-to-multipoint network.

Arqiva, Dali co-operate to upgrade Glasgow cellular network

UK communications infrastructure company Arqiva and wireless infrastructure provider Dali Wireless have completed a project in Glasgow city centre using Dali's digital Distributed Antenna System (DAS) to boost mobile coverage and capacity.
Arqiva worked with Arqiva and systems integrator Cellular Asset Management to replace the analogue cellular network components with Dali's digital DAS to provide improved performance and support 2G, 3G, 4G and future 5G services. This is Dali's first deployment in the UK.

Melbourne Metro Rolls Out P25 DAS System in Railway Stations

VicTrack and Dali Wireless announced the deployment of a new digital public-safety communications system for the protective services officers (PSO) working at selected Metro Trains Melbourne (MTM) railway stations in Australia.
VicTrack, which owns the state’s transport infrastructure and assets, selected infrastructure provider Dali Wireless to design and deploy a Project 25 (P25) Phases 1 and 2 public-safety distributed antenna system (DAS) for railway stations with known black spots. With AT&T’s construction of a nationwide public safety broadband network on behalf of the First Responder Network Authority (FirstNet), everyone in the United States will have network availability, according to Christopher Schenck, director of legal for Dali Wireless.
The Long Term Evolution (LTE) high-speed wireless data network will use Band 14 700-MHz radio-frequency spectrum for a subscriber-based system. “Any state can opt into it or opt out of it,” Schenck said. “But states that opt out have to offer a state network compatible with the nationwide network.”
