From smart cities, Internet of Things (IoT), connected infrastructures, and advanced virtual and augmented reality media that is achievable with 5G to enhanced capabilities for first responders such as real time video streaming, sensor analytics, bio-vital monitoring and connected fleets with FirstNet and Emergency Services Network (ESN), the next generation networks will significantly transform how we connect with the world today.
Achieving the future networks vision will require a change in the way networks are designed today. An agile network that is flexible, scalable, adaptable, reliable, and can enable key innovations is required. Dali Wireless is here to make 5G ready networks a reality today.
Dali utilizes full digitization, network function virtualization (NFV) and software defined networking (SDN) to surpass the limitations of current networks. It ultimately delivers a highly flexible, elastic, and scalable solution that can effectively facilitate rapid network expansion, densification, and migration to the next generation networks.
Today’s static and hardware-dependence networks are simply inadequate. The next generation networks requires a new kind of network architecture – from the fronthaul to the core to the cloud.
Dali Wireless plays a key role by transforming the fronthaul network from a point-to-point network to a multipoint-to-multipoint network that is driven by software. It allows traditional rigid components to be broken down into customizable elements that are virtualized and function as multiple networks, each with its own specifications, for its own use case.
By extending the virtualization beyond the base station through to the fronthaul, network radio resources can now be routed intelligently and dynamically. This effectively creates multiple logical networks on top of a common shared physical infrastructure.
By virtualizing the fronthaul network, mobile operator’s most valuable asset – RF spectrum, can be routed intelligently and dynamically based on the network load. Logical networks are created on top of a common shared physical infrastructure, enabling any incoming data streams of one or more base stations, or virtual baseband units (vBBU) to be routed to any connected remote radio units in the fronthaul network. The ability to manage base station functions centrally through software makes network resource management quicker and easier. This eliminates the need for over-provisioning to meet peak demands, enables demand dynamic allocation, and supports the partitioning of resources among different users and applications.
Dali Wireless offers a full end-to-end Virtual RAN solution with our eco-system partners. Dali’s Virtual Fronthaul Solution supports multiple CPRI, ORI, OBSAI, and in the future also RoE, eCPRI and NGFI interfaces at different line bit rates.
