#WirelessWednesday – Who do you expect would actively operate the NMS and make the necessary capacity changes?

May 12, 2015

Depending on the situation, the operator or a neutral host will most likely be operating the NMS.  There are three main departments that will be using the NMS on the operator side.

1) The operations department: As part of their daily routine running the network operations, the operations department can activate the scripts according to specific and planned situations or events. At the same time, the operations department can monitor the “well-being” of the SDN Radio Router™ system and eventually initiates corrective action.

2) The optimization department: The optimization team that cares about network performance and improvement would also operate the NMS on a regular basis. The re-planning and re-configuration process of the RAN normally happens 2 to 4 times a year and sometimes – not always – might imply a re-configuration of the SDN Radio Router system as well.

3) In addition, the maintenance team that is involved in incident responses. The maintenance team would also use the NMS to maintain he proper operation of the RAN.

In addition, Dali provides a turn-key solution to IT managers of enterprises, and Dali’s operational team can manage and operate the NMS to set up the capacity allocation events.
