#WirelessWednesday – Is reconfiguration or reassignment of macro cell sector capacity to RF nodes handled manually in the Dali Network Management System GUI?

May 6, 2015

Capacity allocation can be done manually or automatically. For an easy execution of a sequence of reconfigurations that happens regularly, capacity allocation can be done through a scripting feature in the Network Management System (NMS). Alternatively, capacity allocation can be triggered by an event, , in fact a SON approach. The trigger can be initiated by a parameter value of the network such as noise level or user count as provided by the RAN measurements, or a device such as a video camera with image processing or an infrared sensor. This trigger approach reacts to certain events, and can dynamically allocate capacity to where and when it’s needed.
